Zara is the founder and lead Equine Practitioner at Healing Herd. She has been passionate about horses for as long as she can remember. Zara has a BSc (Hons) in Psychology, a Diploma in Equine Assisted Learning, further Diplomas in Equine Psychology, Stable Management and Horse Behaviour and is EAGALA trained. She has been working as an Equine Specialist and Programme Lead in Equine Assisted Learning and Therapy for many years and has developed successful therapeutic and education programmes for groups of young people. Zara is both first aid and safeguarding trained, and has an enhanced DBS.
Jane is a qualified counsellor, experienced in working with young people and adults in a variety of settings. For the past five years, Jane has focussed on delivering equine assisted therapy to young people, both as individuals and groups. She is a recreational rider herself, with a deep understanding of the positive impact brought by bringing together people and horses on emotional healing and mental wellbeing. Jane is an Accredited Registrant with the National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society, holds an enhanced DBS and is safeguarding and first aid trained.
Dr. Katie Warner is an HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist. She has over 15 years’ experience working clinically, both within the NHS and other settings.
Katie has additional qualifications in trauma therapy and autism assessments, and is a visiting lecturer at the University of Hertfordshire. She has also published articles on the benefits of equine therapy, particularly in the field of autism.
Katie has been a keen recreational rider for many years, and is an advocate for therapeutic approaches to take place in non- traditional settings. Working in equine therapy allows her to combine a love for horses with her passion for working collaboratively with people to help them achieve their goals.
